Browns Extension Poles: Lengths, BB398P Adaptors and BB399 Fittings
A useful extension-pole setup starts with three decisions: the working length you need, the tool you want to attach and the fitting that connects them. Buying a longer pole does not by itself make a washer, squeegee or brush compatible. Check both ends of the connection before ordering.
Compare the pole’s closed and extended length
The range shown on a pole listing describes its nominal pole length, not a guaranteed safe working height. Think about storage, transport and handling as well as maximum extension. A longer pole can be unnecessary for a close-up job; choose the shortest suitable range for the task and conditions you can manage safely.
BB398P: the T-bar and squeegee adaptor
The Browns BB398P is a Pulex-style adaptor for connecting compatible window-cleaning T-bars and squeegees to Browns Stick Up MXA poles. It is the fitting to investigate for a washer or squeegee setup. It is not a promise that every brand, handle or locking system will fit: check the exact tool before purchase.
BB399: the threaded brush fitting
The Browns BB399 is an MXA-type threaded fitting for compatible Browns Stick Up handles and brush heads. It serves a different connection from the BB398P. A brush’s thread, the pole system and the fitting all need to match; similar-looking threads should not be assumed interchangeable.
Wet/dry does not mean every attachment carries water
The listed Browns wet/dry poles include an on/off water fitting. The tool and connection still determine the setup’s function. A washer or squeegee attached to a pole is not automatically a water-fed brush, and a water-flow brush is not a pressure-washer nozzle. Check the product description for the actual tool, fitting and intended use.
What to check before placing your order
Note your pole model, the exact tool model and the fitting already attached. Read the included-items list rather than relying on a product photograph to show every accessory supplied. The window-cleaning kits list their hand-tool components separately from extension poles and adaptors. Where fit is uncertain, contact Fraser with clear photos of the pole tip and the tool connection before buying.
For vehicle washing, also check whether you need a brush head only or the complete bucket, brush and handle kit. A head-only product does not include a handle simply because it can be used with one. Keeping the parts list clear helps you order the pieces you need without doubling up.
Use the assembled equipment within its limits
Follow the manufacturer’s locking and operating instructions, check that the attachment is secure and keep poles well clear of overhead electrical lines. Do not use maximum extension as a substitute for a safe working position. When access or control is unsuitable, choose a different approach rather than forcing the equipment to reach.
